ABOUT US

We are the Raffio-Curd family, Martin and Dani and our two children, Sofia 3 and Joey 18 months (and soon to be a third in 2009!). We brought this beautiful property in 2005 following our dream of bringing up our family in the French countryside. Martin is a geologist by profession and I used to work as a project manager in the civil service. We dreamed of spending more time together as a family, breathing in the fresh country air, learning French and becoming more active.

As a family we now see each other most days, cycle, canoe and rock climb on a regular basis and enjoy Bonnie (our dog), Bert and Ernie (our cats) and collecting eggs daily from the chickens. Our children are settling into school and nursery and picking up the language quickly and we are far more relaxed than we ever were.

The two properties at Le Quereau have been used as self catering accommodation for over ten successful years. Since taking over the gites in 2005 they have been extensively redecorated and remodernised. As a family we know how complicated it can be organising a holiday with children therefore we are able to provide a range of baby and toddler equipment including cot, highchair, buggies, baby monitors, buggies etc. Older children love the small swimming pool, swings and games room which has a wide range of games, videos and books, they often also help us collecting eggs in the morning and taking the dog for a walk, we are able to advise about suitable adventure activities, child friendly restaurants and exciting family days outs. We are able on request to arrange a baby-sitting service to give parents some adult only time. We provide all linen and towels and a welcome pack on arrival, we can even do your shopping for you before you arrive to save you the hassle on your first day.

We are so pleased with how much the region has to offer people especially when on the outside it seems like such a sleepy corner of France. There are more traditional tourist attractions such as areas of historical or archeological interest, areas of outstanding natural beauty, wildlife parks and theme parks (see links on our ‘places to visit’ page) and there is an enormous amount of things to do for the outdoor activity enthusiast or thrill seeker, from microlite flying to bungee jumping, and rock climbing to canoeing. As we have tried most of these things we are in a good position to help you find things to do while on you stay here with us.

We normally let our holiday cottages from Saturday to Saturday during the peak seasons. But if you wish a shorter break or different start/end days out of season please contact us for prices and further information.

Our holiday cottages are positioned within easy reach of major French road and rail routes and easily accessible from the UK. Click here for further information. There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which should keep all family members occupied.
