FUTUROSCOPE

The European Park of Moving Image. A unique and popular theme park with a number of 3D cinemas and other attractions and shows, well known for it’s amazing architecture.

VALLEY OF THE MONKEYS

A fun day out for all the whole family amongst free roaming friendly monkeys. This has been described by some of our guests as ‘Jurassic Park - but with monkeys’

LA ROCHELLE

An historic coastal town with an attractive fortified harbour, an exciting aquarium, fantastic sandy beaches, shopping and resturants. The nearby Ile de Re is a great day out for beach lovers and has several pretty harbour villages.

COGNAC

A small town on the banks of the Charente River, the home of Brandy and Pineau. Well worth a visit if only for the free samples!

CONFOLENS

A medieval town on the banks of the River Vienne, famous for its International Folk Music Festival in the month of August.

LE VELO-RAIL AT CHAUVIGNY

Peddle your way around up to 17km of restored railway line on unique peddle powered trams. A fun way to see the countryside with family and friends.

LE MARAIS POITEVIN

The ‘Green Venice’ a charming array of narrow backwaters, marshlands and meadows which are home to a wide variety of wildlife. You can easily spend days here visiting the numerous charming villages and punting on the canels.

ANGOULÊME

Beautiful walled city, the old part of the town has been well preserved with narrow cobbled streets. The town has been built on a hill surrounded by ramparts on all sides. The river Charente skirts the northern side of the old town. There are some interesting restaurants, cafes galleries and boutiques. This is a great place for shopping!
